Turan

After more than eight years, Turan died on Tuesday, June, 04th 2002 at noon. We said Goodbye not only to a sweet-tempered and warm-hearted tiger, but also to a true friend, who will always be remembered.

Turan was born on May, 22nd 1994 in Stendal, Germany and grew up together with Leila at the Leuzinger family. Until 1997, he was part of Erich's big cat group. After that, he enjoyed a carefree life at the ranch.

Turan was a very huge, slim, and well-tempered tiger. Ocassionaly playful, then again cuddly, like he never wanted to grow up. Besides chasing around, he loved to play in the water and to get a lot of attention.

Especially remarkable was the relationship between Turan and Elfi Leuzinger. She had replaced his mother for the first couple of months of his life but for him, she was it for his whole life.

We'll miss Turan badly.
